Based on Burger King's published US allergen data
Burger King Allergen Menu
This Burger King allergen menu shows every US item and whether it contains, may contain or shares equipment with the nine major food allergens. They are milk, eggs, wheat, soy, sesame, fish, shellfish, peanuts and tree nuts.
We build the Burger King allergen menu from Burger King's published allergen information. Even so, recipes and kitchen practices change, so always confirm with the restaurant team before ordering for someone with a serious allergy.
Important for severe allergies
Burger King kitchens are shared spaces. Fried items share oil, and buns, cheese and sauces are handled on the same prep line. Burger King does not claim that any item is completely free of any allergen.

Common allergens on the Burger King menu
Wheat and gluten
Almost every sandwich contains wheat, because the buns, croissants, biscuits and breading are wheat-based. Burger King does not sell gluten-free buns in the US. In addition, fries are cooked in shared fryers, so they are flagged for possible wheat cross-contact.
Milk
Cheese, the breakfast eggs and butter-based breads bring milk into many items. Shakes, soft serve and most desserts also contain milk. For a milk-free burger, order a Whopper or Hamburger without cheese, and check the item page for the exact build.
Sesame
Sesame became the ninth major US allergen on January 1, 2023, under the FASTER Act. At Burger King, the sesame seed buns on the Whopper, Hamburger and other burgers contain sesame.
Eggs
Every breakfast sandwich contains egg, and so do mayonnaise-based sauces. Ordering a sandwich without mayo removes most of the egg, but not always all of it.
Fish and shellfish
The Big Fish and Spicy Big Fish contain fish. Shellfish is not listed for any standard US menu item.
Peanuts and tree nuts
None of the current standard US menu items list peanuts or tree nuts in Burger King's allergen data. However, limited-time desserts and new items can change that, so check each new item's page before ordering.
Items with no allergens listed on the Burger King allergen menu
These items list none of the nine major allergens as ingredients in Burger King's data. Still, some of them share equipment with allergens, so cross-contact is possible.
- Mott's Applesauce
- French Fries (shared fryer, possible wheat cross-contact)
- Fountain drinks such as Coca-Cola, Sprite and lemonade
- Brewed Coffee, black iced coffee and Simply Orange Juice
- BBQ Sauce and Sweet and Sour Sauce

Check the item page first
Every item page on this site shows its full allergen list and notes for other builds, such as "with cheese adds milk".
Tell the team about the allergy
Say it at the speaker or counter, not just in a note. Ask them to change gloves where possible.
Keep the order simple
Fewer toppings and sauces mean fewer chances for cross-contact.
Confirm with official data
